Give to the Mabaan Flood Relief fundraising campaign until November 30

November 18, 2020

It has been over one year since the Iowa Conference was asked by the South Sudanese Mabaan community in Iowa to assist with funds to address the Indian Ocean Dipole of 2019. This severe flooding devastated hundreds of villagers’ homes and crops in Upper Nile State, especially Mabaan County.

As Iowans, we know flooding with those affected knowing about waiting for help to come. The Mabaan have been waiting for over a year. At this time our funds will address the priority needs that have not been met.

The fundraising campaign for the Mabaan flood relief is winding down on November 30 but there is still time for you or your church/foundation/group to contribute to it. Please be generous as we enter our last weeks of fundraising. As we are in the Thanksgiving season, let us give whatever we can to be helpful to our fellow Christian friends!

Funds raised in Iowa will be sent via Dahabshiil (an East African Money transfer company) to be received by Pastor Aaron Limmo and fellow traveler, Maya Dinga. These men travel to South Sudan to purchase and distribute necessary humanitarian items as food, tarps, solar lights, tools, seeds, and medicine.

Donations may be sent to the Conference Treasurer, 2301 Rittenhouse St., Des Moines 50321. On the MEMO line put: 53321 MF. You can also donate online by clicking here.

Thank you in advance for your gracious financial gift to the Mabaans.
