Annual Conference 2019

Creating Difference Makers in Ministry With the Poor is the theme for the 2019 Iowa Annual Conference session where lay and clergy will gather for the four-day event that will be held at the Iowa Events Center/Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. The 176th annual yearly meeting will feature powerful preaching, inspiring singing, informative teaching sessions, vital reporting, and the reconnection of fellow United Methodists from across the state.

Following the Lay and Clergy sessions that will be held on Friday, June 7, Bishop Laurie Haller will call the members of the annual conference to order on Saturday, June 8.

Teaching Session Preachers
Associate Pastor Eric Mulanda and Senior Pastor Rob Cook from Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in Lansing, Michigan will lead the Teaching Session on Saturday afternoon.

They state that there are "no perfect people here" but they know that with God's help they are transforming their corner of the world by following the teaching of Jesus and helping each other live a life that reflects his values.
